SHEKU BAYOH PUBLIC INQUIRY
HEARING ON POLICE TRAINING TO COMMENCE
Wednesday, 22nd November 2023 at 10am

Statement by Aamer Anwar, Solicitor- on behalf of the family of Sheku Bayoh who died in police custody on 3rd May 2015.
Please note that evidential hearings in the Sheku Bayoh Public Inquiry will no longer commence tomorrow but on Wednesday, 22nd November 2023 at 10am due to witness illness.
The sessions will focus on police training, with this block expected to last around three weeks. The witness schedule for this week is now as follows:
- Tuesday 21/11 – No Sitting
- Wednesday 22/11 – Inspector James Young
- Thursday 23/11 – Inspector James Young
- Friday 24/11 – Inspector James Young
The family will arrive at 9:30am and make a statement before the hearing commences.
