JOB ADVERT – MEDIA MANAGER (GLASGOW BASED, WORKING ACROSS THE UK (FULL-TIME))

Job Title: Media Manager, based in Glasgow, working across the UK (full-time)

We are at the forefront of advocating for justice and equality, handling high-profile cases such as the Sheku Bayoh Inquiry, the UK and Scottish Covid Inquiries and the Fatal Accident Inquiry into the prison suicides of Katie Allan and William Lindsay. We are a firm of ‘activist lawyers’ who utilise legal expertise to campaign for meaningful social change, defend civil liberties and fight injustice.

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Media Manager to join our team and work directly with Aamer Anwar. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all our social media platforms across Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook. They will play a pivotal role in amplifying and raising awareness of our cases and campaigns, driving engagement with and growing our audience in order to effect social change.. Additionally, they will be tasked with drafting press releases and liaising with the media to ensure comprehensive coverage of our work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain all social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling and community engagement.
• Develop and implement social media strategies aligned with the firm’s objectives to increase visibility and impact in order to effect social change
• Create engaging multimedia content, including videos, graphics and written posts, to effectively communicate the firm’s work.
• Monitor social media analytics and metrics to measure the success of campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Draft press releases and other written materials to communicate key messages to the press and broader public.
• Cultivate relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure coverage of our cases and campaigns.

Required

• Proven experience in Social Media Management, preferably in a legal, advocacy and non-profit setting.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven high proficiency in video editing and graphic design.
• Strong understanding of social media analytics and metrics to inform content and target high value clients
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to social justice and progressive change.

Desirable

• Knowledge of legal principles and human rights issues.
