Ryan has been with Aamer Anwar & Co for over a decade and is presently a senior associate with our firm. Prior to joining us, Ryan worked for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service preparing Solemn level cases for prosecution, thus he has been able to bring a degree of prosecutorial insight to our firm, which is of great benefit to our clients.
Ryan has a passion for criminal defence work and prides himself on his straight forward and down to earth approach to advising and defending our clients. Time sensitive and efficient, he focuses upon providing a First Class client service. He works hard and genuinely goes beyond the call of duty for his clients.
A graduate of Strathclyde University, Ryan has been central to the work and day to day running of our firm for several years now, and is liked and well respected by all of our clients.
Having extensive experience of criminal appeal work, Ryan has been heavily involved in a number of noted and important appeal cases such as Gage v HMA, Sangster v HMA, and Rehman & Ishaq v HMA, and he has played a leading role in the firms pursuit of justice for ‘the Lockerbie bomber’, Abdulbaset Al-Megrahi.
Ryan has instructed counsel in countless serious, high profile matters in the High Court, while developing an excellent reputation personally conducting criminal trials at Sheriff and JP Court level. Ryan is always exceptionally well prepared and clients highlight his outstanding commitment and service.
Ryan is also a Notary Public and a member of the Glasgow Bar Association, and he has twice been a finalist in the Scottish Legal Awards.
