THE independence movement in Scotland dominates Facebook and Twitter, but this month it’s going live as thousands gather in our capital city with a march and rally for independence through Edinburgh on September 22.
LOTS of us exist online these days. But nothing quite beats getting together with like-minded people out in the real world.
It’s the difference between watching your favourite band on YouTube and seeing them with your pals at T In the Park.
The independence movement in Scotland dominates Facebook and Twitter, but this month it’s going live as thousands gather in our capital city with a march and rally for independence through Edinburgh on September 22.
It’s bringing together all sorts of very different folk.
Margo MacDonald and Alex Salmond will share a platform, together with human rights lawyer Aamer Anwar, the Green Party’s Patrick Harvie and former Labour MP and MSP Dennis Canavan. Dennis won’t be lonely: the fast growing new group Labour Voters for Independence are also at the party.
Like Keir Hardie, Labour’s founding father, they believe the people who live in Scotland should make the most important decisions about what happens here.
They represent the true values of the Labour Party, abandoned by today’s leadership.
It will be great fun, with entertainment for kids and lots of live music.
