Eamon graduated with an LLB in Scots Law from the University of Dundee with First Class Honours and was awarded the Dean’s medal from the Faculty of Law in recognition of outstanding achievement. He trained briefly at a leading commercial law firm Brodie’s before assigning his traineeship to our firm in order to pursue his interests in court advocacy and access to justice.
He has successfully conducted the defence of individuals prosecuted for a variety of offences ranging from breaches of the peace to serious sexual offences and fraud at both summary and solemn level. He has also acted as instructing solicitor preparing cases at High Court level in rape, murder and terrorism prosecutions and has a special interest in appellate work.
He has an acute interest in the technical application of the law and prides himself on the quality of his legal research and submissions. He has experience too of acting for individuals in the civil courts including licensing appeals and acting for those facing orders pursuant to the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act and Proceeds of Crime legislation. He also acts in children’s panels and referral proofs.
Finally, he has acted for a range of prisoners appearing before the Parole Board of Scotland and various professionals appearing before disciplinary tribunals. He also has significant experience of acting for University students in senate disciplinary matters. He always strives to offer clients a professional and discrete service whilst robustly defending their interests.
Away from practice, his academic interests lie in the law of evidence and access to justice generally. He is the current Convenor and on the board of directors of the Scottish Legal Action Group (SCOLAG), a charity dedicated to improving access to justice in Scotland.
He has published numerous academic articles and is currently co-editing the new edition of Raitt “Evidence – Principles, Policy and Practice”.

Ryan has been with Aamer Anwar & Co for over a decade and is presently a senior associate with our firm. Prior to joining us, Ryan worked for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service preparing Solemn level cases for prosecution, thus he has been able to bring a degree of prosecutorial insight to our firm, which is of great benefit to our clients.

Urfan joined us as a respected Solicitor Advocate having gained extensive experience in the management, direction and presentation of High Court and sheriff and jury trials. Urfan was granted extended rights of audience and admitted as a Solicitor Advocate in 2014. He is entitled to appear as counsel in the High Court of Justiciary and Court of Appeal.

Sarah is an Associate Solicitor and Notary Public with Aamer Anwar & Co. She graduated from Aberdeen University in 2008 and also attained her Diploma in Legal Practice there in 2009. She joined our firm in 2010. Sarah practices criminal court work where she has prepared and conducted many criminal cases at courts situated all over the country.

Tony graduated in 2016 from the University of Glasgow with First Class Honours in Law. He was awarded his Diploma in Professional Legal Practice, with Distinction, in 2017 and was also the recipient of the Law Society of Scotland Joint Prize in Advanced Civil Litigation. Tony has a particular interest in human rights law.
